Day 1 | Welcome to Cape Town
Upon our arrival in Cape Town, we'll meet our private driver who will transfer us to our luxurious 5-star retreat, Ellerman House, nestled in the stunning Camps Bay. This picturesque and vibrant beachfront neighborhood along the Atlantic seaboard epitomizes coastal beauty and leisure. After settling in, our driver will pick us up for a special tasting dinner at La Colombe, the best restaurant in Cape Town.
Day 2 | Lion’s Head Hike
Today, we'll embark on one of the world's most unique and beautiful hikes, experiencing the harmonious blend of rugged mountain landscapes, pristine beaches, and the vibrant energy of a major city, all in the remarkable setting of Cape Town. Together, we'll conquer the thrilling adventure of hiking to the peak of Lion's Head, where breathtaking panoramic views and an exhilarating experience await. Majestically rising above the city, known for it’s distinctive resemblance to a lion's head, promises to be a memorable highlight of our journey.
Day 3 | Tour of Cape town
After breakfast, we'll meet our private driver and guide at the hotel to embark on a full day tour of Cape Town. Our exploration will kick off by visiting the iconic landmarks of Cape Town, including the historic Castle of Good Hope and the vibrant Bo-Kaap neighborhood with its colorful houses. We'll ascend Table Mountain in a private cable car, treating ourselves to panoramic views of the city, coastline, and surrounding mountains. Our journey into the fascinating history of Cape Town will continue with visits to significant sites such as Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned, and the District Six Museum, which tells the story of the forced removals during apartheid. Following our enriching tour, we'll head back to the hotel for a special private dinner.
Day 4 | Leisure day & CGH
Today we’ll take some time to relax at the beautiful Ellerman House property. We can enjoy a swim, explore the art gallery, indulge in a massage, or simply unwind by the beach while grabbing some lunch. Ellerman House is a unique property, and it's important for us to dedicate a day to fully savoring the experience. We can stock up from the Snack Pantry and secure a spot by the pool before heading to the back terrace for the traditional 5 pm Happy Hour, featuring custom gin and tonics. Alternatively, it's also a great day to venture to the Cape of Good Hope.
Day 5 | Travel to franschhoek
Embarking from Cape Town today, we'll journey towards the wine country of Franschhoek, a scenic 1-hour and 15-minute drive through mountainous valleys and lush green landscapes. This charming town, nestled in the Cape Winelands, is celebrated for its rich wine heritage and culinary delights. Set against breathtaking mountains and vineyards, Franschhoek offers a serene retreat, inviting us to partake in wine tastings, savor gourmet dining experiences, and bask in the beauty of the countryside. Upon reaching our accommodations at Mont Rochelle, we'll settle in before indulging in an afternoon wine tasting experience. Our evening will culminate with dinner at the esteemed La Petite Colombe.
Day 6 | wine tour
This morning, we will embark on an exclusive private guided wine tour through Franschhoek. Our expert guide will curate a bespoke itinerary, leading us to acclaimed wineries such as La Motte, Boshendal, Babylonstoren, and Eikehof. Here, we can indulge in premium wine tastings, learn about the winemaking process, and savor the exquisite flavors of the region. With breathtaking vineyard landscapes as our backdrop, this private tour promises us an immersive and unforgettable journey through Franschhoek's world-class wine culture.
Day 7 | Relaxing in wine country
Take the day to relax at our accommodations and savor the charm of Franschhoek. Today presents a wonderful opportunity to explore the quaint town of Franschhoek and stroll along Main Street, discovering its shops and cafés. Additionally, you can opt for a leisurely bike ride through the picturesque countryside or embark on a special visit to the abundant gardens of Babylonstoren.
Day 8 | fly to sabi sands
Today, we'll bid farewell to Franschhoek. After checking out of our hotel, we'll embark on a drive back to Cape Town and catch our flight to Nelspruit airport. This will be a long flight as we have to go all the way across South Africa to the north eastern border with Mozambique. Our destination is bush country, home to lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, hippos, water buffalo, and more. Upon arrival at Nelspruit airport, our private driver will be ready to pick us up, taking us on a 1.5-hour drive to the Sabi Sands. Here, we'll enter one of the most diverse and abundant game parks in the world and arrive at Dulini, a safari retreat in the Sabi Sands.
Day 9 | dulini moya
Each of the six luxury suites at Dulini Moya boasts a timeless blend of classic safari charm and indulgent comfort, providing a private haven of peace and serenity overlooking the Mabrak River.
Today marks the beginning of our safari adventure. We'll enjoy two safari experiences, each lasting approximately 3 hours. The excursions are timed for when the animals are most active – at dawn and dusk. Our day starts bright and early at 5:30 am as we embark on our open-air Land Rover Defender, eager to spot the diverse wildlife that inhabits this remarkable landscape.
Day 10 – 12 | dulini moya
Dulini offers endless opportunities for adventure. You can opt for the standard two safari excursions each day, and for an added thrill, extend your safari into the night to savor traditional gin and tonics by the Land Rover in the bush. Your guide will ensure that no dangerous animals are nearby, allowing you to enjoy drinks and snacks as the sun sets over the Sabi Sands. It's a truly unique experience that will leave an indelible mark on your memory. Additionally, there's an option to embark on a bush walk one day, allowing you to explore the bush on foot with your guide. This is an incredible experience that, while requiring a bit of bravery, promises a unique perspective on the natural surroundings.
Day 13 | Departure
Regrettably, it's time for our departure from Africa. We'll fly back from Nelspruit to Cape Town and then catch our flight back to the US.
